Meet Payroll Paula

Paula is a 44-year-old payroll manager from Park Slope, Brooklyn. Paula holds a BA in Business Administration from Paradise University. (Go Parakeets!) She lives with her husband, Paramedic Pablo, their two daughters, Promise and Peyton, and their golden retriever, Penny. Every spring, her garden bursts into bloom with pink tulips, which are her favorite flower. She adores the spring season, since her favorite colors are pink and green.

Every other Thursday, Paula puts together an elaborate charcuterie board for wine night with her friends. Besides brie and Riesling, her favorite foods are Twizzlers and Cobb salad with spicy ranch dressing. On her bookshelf you’ll find a wealth of self-help books, everything Sandra Cisneros has ever written and her favorite book, “The Gifts of Imperfection” by Brenè Brown. Paula also loves browsing Pinterest and making homemade face masks with her daughters.

Paula’s favorite movie is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, which she loved as a child and now watches with her own girls. When they’re asleep, she and Pablo catch up on Scandal and Law and Order: SVU. They’ve been married for 19 years and she loves to tell him how much he looks like her celebrity crush, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. They met at a Brian McKnight concert and have been inseparable ever since. Don’t tell Paula, but Pablo has been putting money away into a secret account so they can go to Paris together for their 25th wedding anniversary and Paula’s 50th birthday.

Paula’s best friends are her mom, whom she calls every day, and her sister Paige, who is dating the “famous” local weatherman, Sunny Steven. You can often find Paula and Paige at their favorite coffee shop, The Bean Scene, where the baristas know Paula’s order (a dirty chai latte) by heart. The pair is also often spotted at Michael’s Crafts, picking up supplies to create handmade gifts. Paula’s favorite holiday is Christmas, because she loves crafting the perfect present for everyone she knows.
